Dr Lucy Archinal-Hudson

Lucy Archinal-Hudson is a clinical psychologist based in Australia. She has been an accredited ACT Witness Intermediary since 2021. Lucy has worked with clients across many contexts including private practice, education, forensic settings, and out-of-home care. She currently maintains her own private practice, and has a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients. She was diagnosed with ADHD herself in 2020 and is passionate about neuro-affirming practice.

Dr Groeber

Dr Ian S. Groeber is a Consultant Psychiatrist who has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings. Over time, he has focused his attention on neurodevelopmental disorders, attaining his CCT in Intellectual Disability, and currently works in a service diagnosing ADHD and ASD in addition to medically managing ADHD. 

DI Emma Dillon

Emma is a West Yorkshire Police Detective Inspector with 25 years of Police experience. She worked in numerous roles including child protection, before settling in her specialist post in non-recent child sexual exploitation and abuse.  Like many women, she was late diagnosed with ADHD. She is eager to improve the victim experience, and improve understanding of how neuro diversity affects ABE.

Course Aims/Objectives:

 

By the end to the course participants will have:

  1. Improved understanding of ADHD characteristics and the clinical diagnostic criteria.
  2. Improved understanding of ADHD presentations across different populations including age and gender. 
  3. Improved understanding of executive functioning difficulties related to ADHD and the impact on police interviews.  
  4. Improved knowledge of the pharmacological management of ADHD including common ADHD medications and their impact upon communication.
  5. Explored relevant legislation related to ADHD and mental health.
  6. Learned practical strategies to foster communication when working with ADHD witnesses.
  7. Improved understanding of common comorbidities associated with ADHD.
  8. Explored considerations related to diagnostic labels and the use of affirming language.
  9. Considered lived experience perspectives of people diagnosed with ADHD.

Course Method:

The workshop is run in the form of a small group training. The presenters will present information and will invite high levels of participation and sharing of knowledge and ideas.  Prepared slides / handouts guide the process rather than impart information.

The following materials are provided:

  • Power point presentations

- Participants to log on 15 minutes prior to start of each session.

- It is required that all participants keep their cameras on throughout the workshop.

- Participants to complete online feedback form post workshop.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking with 14 or more days' notice, you will receive a full refund minus a £15 admin charge (£5 for subsidised courses). If you cancel your booking with less than 48 hours' notice, we are unfortunately unable to offer a refund. However, you may substitute another delegate or transfer to another course by giving IfJ at least 24 hours’ notice.

In exceptional circumstances IfJ reserve the right to issue a full refund. Please inform us at the time of cancellation of your particular reason for cancelling. If you wish to cancel or change your booking, please do so by emailing: admin@intermediaries-for-justice.org

We will endeavour to respond to all cancellation requests within two working days. Refunds will be made using the same method of payment as you used for the purchase and will be paid within seven days of refund confirmation.

Places are limited to a maximum of 20 participants. There is a minimum requirement of 12 participants. If the minimum number is not met, IfJ reserve the right to cancel the course with at least two weeks' notice and a full refund will be issued.
